Every call you miss is a homeowner who calls the next name on the list. Put in your own numbers and see what that costs over a year.
SHORT ANSWER
Missed call cost = calls per week x share missed x share of answered calls that book x average job value x 52. The calculator below does the math with your own numbers, in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. The numbers you get are only as good as the ones you enter, so pull them from your phone system and your field software if you can.
Calculate your missed call cost
Where do I find my numbers?
- Calls per week and share missed: your phone provider or call tracking dashboard. Count calls that rang out, went to voicemail, or were abandoned on hold.
- Booking rate: booked jobs divided by answered calls, from your field software (ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber) or your CSR log.
- Average job value: average invoice for service calls. Leave installs out unless you want the high end.

What do I do with the result?
Compare it with what you spend to get the calls in the first place. If you pay for leads and then miss a share of them, answering more calls is the cheapest growth you can buy. If the number is small, your problem is the other end: not enough people find you. That is what the free 7-gap report checks on Google, Maps and the AI assistants.
Questions owners ask
How do I calculate the cost of missed calls?
Multiply calls per week by the share you miss, by the share of answered calls that book, by your average job value, then by 52 for a year.
Does this include customer lifetime value?
No. It counts the first job only. A customer who joins a maintenance plan or buys an install later is worth more, so the real cost is higher.
Is my data stored?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us.
